Gov’t launches consultation on toy safety updates

The affected product categories include babies' dummies, baby walking frames, and bottle teats.

The government has launched a public consultation on proposed updates to Schedules 1 and 2 of the Toys & Children's Products Safety Ordinance.

The updates aim to align safety standards for toys and seven categories of children's products with the latest standards set by relevant institutions.

As part of the consultation, the government is seeking to adopt the most current safety standards for toys and seven specific categories of products listed in Schedule 2 of the ordinance.

The affected product categories include babies' dummies, baby walking frames, bottle teats, bunk beds for domestic use, carry cots and similar handled products and stands, children's paints, and wheeled child conveyances.
