Gov’t OKs zoning plans for San Tin Technopole

The project will bridge the I&T industry between Hong Kong and the GBA.

The government and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) have agreed to draft outline zoning plans (OZP) for  the San Tin Technopole project.

The San Tin Technopole will create land for Innovation and Technology (I&T) purposes to enhance research and collaboration between Hong Kong and the GBA. It will also create more opportunities for local I&T talent and attract talent from overseas.

San Tin Technopole will integrate the Lok Ma Chau Loop with the Lok Ma Chau or San Tin area, promoting I&T cooperation with the Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Zone.

The government has also approved the project's environmental impact assessment and plans to build a 338-hectare Sam Po Shue Wetland Conservation Park to compensate for the ecological loss caused by pond-filling.
